Located in downtown Des Moines, the Connection Cafe is a meal program that offers lunch at no cost to homeless and low income individuals and families. The Cafe seeks to make personal connections with all of our guests and seeks to treat each person with dignity and respect.
We are currently in need of one or more volunteer groups nearly every month. We are also looking into the possibility of adding Thursday to our serving schedule. To do this we will need a commitment from at least a few groups, to serve meals on a monthly basis. You can provide, prepare and/or serve meals. You can help on a one-time basis or we can look into getting you on the regular schedule. You can come and serve on your lunch break or help out in some other way. We would love to have you help out, and I am sure you will find you get back much more than you give!
